NO FLOCK Guide

You signed up for one reason: you care about privacy. So here it is — no funnel, no gate, no form. Read it, use it, send it to one person who needs it.

The PDF is a clean 3-page copy you can keep, print, or hand out. No email required, nothing on this page tracks you.

01

What is actually happening

You are not suspected of anything. No judge signed anything. And yet your car, your face, your phone, and your purchases are logged, timestamped, and stored by systems you never agreed to.

Automated license plate readers photograph your plate and location as you drive past. Cameras feed facial recognition. Your phone broadcasts location to dozens of apps that resell it. Data brokers stitch it together and sell the file — often to government agencies that would need a warrant to collect it themselves.

No warrant. No suspicion. Still tracked.

02

Why it matters even if you did nothing wrong

Surveillance is not about guilt. It is about permanence. A record of everywhere you drove, everyone you met, and every clinic, church, union hall, or lawyer's office you visited outlives the context that explains it.

Innocent people are misidentified by facial recognition. Plate readers flag the wrong car. And a database built for one purpose is always, eventually, used for another.

03

Your first hour: the highest-impact moves

1. Lock the accounts that matter. Email first — it is the master key to everything else. Long unique passwords in a password manager, and app-based two-factor instead of SMS.

2. Cut the loudest leaks on your phone. Turn off ad tracking, revoke location permission from every app that does not need it to function, and set the rest to "while using."

3. Change what you browse with. A privacy-respecting browser plus a content blocker removes most third-party tracking with no ongoing effort.

4. Move your private conversations. Use end-to-end encrypted messaging for anything you would not post publicly.

5. Start opting out of data brokers. Removal requests take minutes each. Do a few a week rather than none ever.

6. Pay with less of a trail. Cash and virtual card numbers break the link between your identity and your purchases.

04

Look up your own neighborhood

Most people have no idea how many cameras are already mounted on the roads they use every day. Community mapping projects let you check.

Find the cameras near you

Then ask your city council one question in public: who approved this, what is retained, and who can request the data?

What to do with this guide

Use it. Share it. Print it and leave it somewhere people will read it.

Then reply to the email that brought you here and tell us one thing: what part of mass surveillance bothers you most? Cameras? Location tracking? Facial recognition? Data brokers? AI? Something else?

We are asking because this movement should be shaped by the people paying attention. Not by corporations. Not by politicians. Not by algorithms. By us.

One word is enough. We read them.
